The Yahoo! Geo Technologies team has worked hard over the last several months to bring new countries to maps.yahoo.com in time for the holidays.
We’ve added detailed coverage to 45 new countries, with new data in a further 30 countries, to make it easier for you to navigate to exotic locales as you plan for your winter travel. You can now get detailed map, routing and geocoding from Auckland to Muscat, or Belo Horizonte to Yogyakarta.
- Europe: Ireland, Spain, France, Germany, United Kingdom, Italy, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Austria, Netherlands, Belgium, Andorra, Luxembourg, Serbia, Liechtenstein, Romania, Croatia, Monaco, Slovenia, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Estonia, Cyprus, Portugal, San Marino, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Belarus, Albania, Malta, Macedonia, Montenegro, Moldova, Greece, Gibraltar, Lithuania, Latvia, Iceland, Sweden, Russia, Switzerland, Finland, Denmark, Norway

Any details on improvements in Europe that you can share?
This release has added considerable coverage for European countries, specifically for the Eastern European regions. We’ll have more details on this EU coverage shortly.

I’m not seeing detailed mapping in Australia even though that’s on the list. When will that be added? BTW, since when are Australia and New Zealand in Asia?
Where in the Philippines in particular?
Is it an update of road data or imagery?

Any details about geocoding and routing updates in this bulk release ?
Please note that while most all countries received updated Map, Routing, and Geocoding data this time around, , a few obtained updated specifically geocoding data (only): Australia, Argentina, Philippines, South Korea, and Vietnam.
These countries, as well as all others, will be getting updated map data throughout 2009.
